Meet Ups

Creative Mumz organizes its meet ups/coffee mornings, alternatively in Dubai and Sharjah. Our motive is to indulge in interesting activities, workshops, art demonstrations, discuss up coming events and to have fun.

Dates and timings of upcoming meet ups will be announced through our newsletter.

Review of Earlier Meet Ups

1st Meet up

Our first meet up was on the 15th of June 2006 from 10-30-12.30, at Mega Mall Sharjah. The agenda was "Get to know the Mumz". The Mums introduced themselves in an introduction game. The meet up featured a powerpoint presentation called "Between Parent and Child." The topic was creative and destructive criticism on children. The presentation was followed by a discussion on the topic.

2nd Meet up

The second meet up was held on the 16th of September 2006. It featured a cooking demonstration 'Crispy Chicken' and a workshop on the 'Webbing Method for Creative Writing.'

3rd Meet up

On our 3rd meet up on 4th of November at the Sahara Centre, we enjoyed a wonderful demonstration on Decoupage and one stroke painting conducted by Ozden Cicek followed by a round of refreshments. The kids had a great time playing and enjoyed the colouring activity.

4th Meet up

We met at Zabeel Park on 23rd of December, 2006 for our meet up cum picnic. The weather was great and we had a great time. Activities conducted on the day were, 'Sketch your imagination', display of handmade table runners, mats, wall hangs etc. and discussion on 'Most memorable childhood memory'. The kids enjoyed in the play area while the mumz enjoyed the activities, chat and refreshments.

5th Meet up

Creative Mumz January meet up was organized at the Fabindia Store, Dubai on the 25th of January, 2007. A presentation on First aid was conducted by Mariam Masood and producted for lefties were presented by Lara Khouri of 4 Leaf Clover. We learnt how to make gift pouches, the activity was conducted by Hashma Hamid.

6th Meet up

We met at Bur Juman on 24th March, 2007 and indulged in the following activites:

Interactive session: Keep Busy, Stay Happy! by Faryal Masood
Product Introduction- Rainbow Milk for growing up kids by representative of Rainbow Milk
Introduction of Lamasa art, soft toys and finger puppets by Anjum Panjwani

Coffee Morning:

We enjoyed the coffee morning at Hashma's place in Sharjah. Sana shared an article with us, "Complement More, Reprimand Less" and Mariam conducted a book review on "The Fractured Mind". I demonstrated scrapbooking, a beginners project.

Creative Mumz 1st Anniversary Meet Up:

This was our anniversay meet up, we indulged in the following activities,

THE ALIENS HAVE LANDED, "I WANT THOSE ABS" VIDEO, RAFFLE DRAW, PLANNED ACTIVITIES FOR FUTURE MEET UPS AND CUT OUR 1st ANNIVERSARY CAKE!

October Meet Up:

Our agenda for this meet up was hands on SCRAPBOOKING. We got our pictures and indulged in this wonderful art. We also played taboo and Najaf prepared an interesting activity for us, "EXCUSE ME!"

Meet Up at Jazeera Park:

We met at Jazeera Park, Sharjah in November 2007 for a picnic cum meet up. Fatima gave a demo on SELF HELP TECHNIQUES-REFLEXOLOGY. Faryal and Sana prepared a talk on STRESS BUSTING TECHNIQUES and Hashma conducted PICTIONARY for us.

Our activites during this year

January Meet Up:

We started the year with a smashing meet up. Mariam conducted a PowerPoint presentation on LEARNING SETTINGS FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT and Sana prepared an interesting activity, ASSOCIATE 'EM.

April Meet Up:

Our new member Annie Faisal conducted avery informative and interesting presentation for us, GROOMING TIPS AND QUICK MAKE UP APPLICATION. She demonstrated how to apply make up with all the tips and tricks.

July Meet Up:

This meet up during the summer was a great treat fro kids. They enjoyed story time by Hashma. Faryal conducted a cute cate craft activity and also discussed some activities mums can do with their kids in their free time. These included Kennings, homemade puzzles and finger painting.

This was also our 2nd anniversay meet up.

November Meet Up:

We met at Luna Rossa Cafe at Qanat Al Qasba, Sharjah on 22nd November. Fatima prepared a presentation, PEOPLE AND PERSONALITIES for us. The weather was great and so the kids enjoyed a lot.
